Motorcycle Fatalities Up Again, NHTSA Says Safety - 07/26/07
Motorcycle deaths increased for the ninth straight year, especially involving older riders, and for the first time exceeded pedestrian deaths. The NHTSA figures show 4,810 motorcycle deaths last year, compared with 4,576 in 2005.

Richards Legacy Misc - 07/19/07
Richard was my Grandfather, a farmer turned machinist/tool and die after his service commitment in WWII. He wasn't a big man in fact only 5 foot 6 inches tall and about 150 lbs of solid muscle, but I dearly loved this man.

If you live in the PA and/or OH area you might want to be sure and lock your bike and place it in eye shot just to be safe. There has been an alarming number of reported motorcycle thefts this year.

2008 Suzuki C109R(T) Suzuki - 07/04/07
The M109R power-cruiser garnered lots of attention during its debut year in 2006. Suzuki thought it would be nice to bolster the Boulevard line and offer the same type of muscle cruiser in a more traditional styling package.

AMA Pledges $100,000 Toward Motorcycle Crash Study Safety - 12/04/06
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has announced that it has committed $100,000 to help fund a comprehensive nationwide study of motorcycle crashes, and encourages individual motorcyclists, organizations, and businesses in the motorcycle industry to contribute to the effort through the AMA's new "Fuel the Fund" campaign.

2007 Yamaha Star Motorcycles Introduced Yamaha - 06/28/06
The only new cruiser announced by Yamaha's Star brand for 2007 was the all-new V-Star 1300 in both standard and touring versions. A 1304cc 60 degree v-twin engine with single overhead cams and four valves per cylinder.

Yamaha offers to buy back bikes Yamaha - 02/15/06
Yamaha really gets behind its products, and here is the proof.
After introducing a new series of 600cc sportbikes with an advertised redline of a whopping 17500 rpms it was discovered that the tachometers were reading erroniously and the bikes are in reality only reving to 16000.

Suzuki Recalls VL1500 and VL1500T for Fuel Tank Leak Suzuki - 02/08/06
On certain 1998-2006 Suzuki motorcycles, repeated stress around the right front fuel tank mounting point can cause a hairline crack to form due to metal fatigue. This can result in a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition source, fuel leakage can cause a fire.

Yamaha's Profit Beats Estimate on Motorcycle Sales Yamaha - 02/08/06
Yamaha Motor Co., the world's second- largest motorcycle maker, said its profit last year beat its estimate by 6.7 percent because of rising sales of motorcycles and outboard motors.

The Mississippi State Tax Commission recently doubles and in some cases triples the ad valorem tax on motorcycles. The Tax Commission now directs the collection of more tax on new motorcycles than it does on cars and trucks that cost twice as much.

Moto Guzzi unviels new models MotoGuzzi - 11/18/05
Moto Guzzi an Italian firm with roots back to the early 1920's has unvieled a pair of touring bikes powered by their trademarl transversally mounted V-Twin engine. The oldest bike I own... Misc - 11/11/05
I can't ride it, but then again, even when it was new I couldn't ride it. But it was a favorite then and remains so today, holding a special place of honor atop my PC, leaning against a bent XS850 exhaust valve, so that it can stand on it's wheels, as all proper motorcycles should.
