I’ve just completed part one of the site re-design. New additions include:
- Cruiser News Feed. Pulls in motorcycle related news and reviews from several places on the internet. As more become available I’ll be adding them.
- Shopping. One place where you can search many stores on the internet for Bikes and accessories. There is also a live direct feed from EBay which allows you to see the most recent listings related to your search. In the next phase, you will be able to save your searches so that you may keep track of particular items of interest.
- Travel/Ride Guide. An interactive map which allows you to zoom in and out. The map shows real-time traffic information such as road construction and incidents. It also shows local Bike shops around the area. There is weather information including a 5 day forecast and a “Bike Feel” temperature, and basic DOT information for the state provided by the FHWA.
- Motorcycle related TV Listings. A list of upcoming programs of interest.
Some future enhancements will include an interactive map for major motorcycle events so that you can find where the action is. A Maintenance log so you can keep track of all your bike maintenance and even have it email you when certain scheduled work needs done. When you sell your bike, you’ll be able to print out this information, or include it in and electronic profile for potential buyers to review.
The main focus of the site is still the Blog. I know it’s been a slow winter but I hope to get everyone cranked up again. I’m also looking to add more authors. The goal is to have a diverse mix of people both professional writers and amateurs, from either various parts of the industry or just plain riders and enthusiasts.
