2008 Suzuki C109R(T)
Posted in Suzuki by Merlin on July 04, 2007

The M109R power-cruiser garnered lots of attention during its debut year in 2006. Suzuki thought it would be nice to bolster the Boulevard line and offer the same type of muscle cruiser in a more traditional styling package. What the designers came up with is the C109R and a touring version called the C109RT. The only difference between the two is that the T model gets a windscreen, passenger backrest, studded seat, leather saddlebags and two-tone paint.

The potent 1783cc V-Twin from the M is transplanted into the C virtually unchanged, so the liquid-cooled mill should still crank out 100-plus rear-wheel horsepower.

Other differences include a hidden shock arrangement for a hardtail look, linked brakes and two color choices, black or maroon.

The Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve EFI uses 52mm throttle bodies, 4mm smaller than the M version. Suzuki claims that crank inertia is increased by 20% and that the C109R offers more torque at low speeds. Power is dished out via a 5-speed transmission and shaft drive.

The chassis offers 32 degrees of rake and 5.1 inches of trail while resting on a150/80R16 and 240/55R16 front/rear tire combo. The wheels are a more classic 10-spoke design and the fenders are much deeper than the M109R.

These bikes should be available in the showroom  around February, 2008. The C109R model will retail for $13,799, and the tour version's MSRP will retail at $14,999.

This is the bike I have been waiting for! Ijust hope that Suzuki takes note of Yamaha, and makes the windsheild and  backrest quick-detachable and lockable. Ialso hope that there is no plastic fenders!

Agree with Clarence. whatupwitdat trying to make a bad boy stealth cruiser into a funky hoggy vtx??? If you need baggage, they have a very slick but $$$$ hard shell matching color luggage, and a factory small or medium windshield thats raked back and looks decent. But Hogs still fear me in my neck of the woods on highway 21 in WI where a v-rod and what looked like a 30k California chopper clone flanked me at the stop sign entering the 55mph highway.  We all squealed a little off the line but dug in for the crank.  By the time I hit eighty in second these guys were a hundred yards behind me.
When they finally caught up they looked like bug eyed catfish with their mouths moving up and down but no sound. AH, I love the smell of smokin m109 in the morning.

This is a cruiser! And a really awesome one. I don't like the way that the M109R looks. Not from a cruiser perspective at least. I think it looks more like something of a sportbike rather than a cruiser or perhaps 3/4 sportbike + 1/4 cruiser.  I was very disappointed with Suzuki when I saw what they had done with the old Intruder. But now I'm happy again. The C109R looks like a cruiser supposed to in my opinion. While I think the M109R looks like a late 80's idea of a futuristic cruiser. :)

Presently own a C50T which has been awesome, but this new C109 will be my next bike. Hopefully it will come in T form in NZ. Have ridden the M109R but not my style, prefer cruiser.

I think it looks great. A little skimpy in the saddle bag area but with a custom exaust and some new bags and a luggage rack,  that can be fixed.  I did not care for the M109R style at all. Can't wait to get my hands on one! I'll stick with my old VL1500 LC until then.

It looks like my current Intruder LC with a bigger motor...and that is a GOOD thing!

Looks like I won't be upgrading to a later model.  The aggressive styling of the M109R was what caught my eye after spending years moping around manufacturer web sites in the hope that someone would come up with a predatory looking production cruiser.  I thought Suzuki finally got it right, but this is just plain and unoriginal.  No I'll stick with my M

I really like this bike. I presently own an 07 m109 and simply love it!! It's a bike that commands respect from not only other riders but non bikers just the same. This new c109rt will certainly turn heads and command respect too. When the rider cracks that throttle and lets all of that 1800cc motor lose, other bikers will certainly watch in awe. I just wish that Suzuki will some day give both the c109rt as well as the m109r a sixth gear. They're wonderful performing bikes but definitely need that cruising gear. Something for those brilliant minds at Suzuki to think about......

I have a new Harley Roadking Classic. Comming from a Honda VTX 1800 I am not too happy...it was like pay more, get less. Harley has a long way to go. My honey burns her feet in city traffic the heat from engine and exhaust is somthing that Harley after all those years should have corected...there are still too many buyers. Not to mention the vibration.
I tested the Suzuki M109 and think it is a fantastic bike, however it is more of a sport bike than a cruiser. The torque is awesome!
Now Suzuki is making this bike in a real cruiser version..it will definately be my next bike.
